GHOST watchers are due to spend the night in a Museum that is allegedly haunted. |
Members of the Southern Paranormal Investigation Team - a group of people interested in supernatural events - hope to communicate |
with the other side when they go to Maidstone Museum and Bentlif Art Gallery, St. Faith's Street, during the next few days. |
The Kent Messenger has agreed not to reveal the exact date for security reasons. |
|
A 14-strong group of enthusiasts are hoping to experience some unexplained events, such as apparitions and disembodied voices. |
The spirit of a gypsy girl is said to haunt the Museum and both staff and visitors have reported strange experiences when visiting the |
Gypsy Girl painting in the Museum's Baxter Room. |
|
Although the visit by the group follows a filming session by TV Medium, Derek Acorah, Corriene Vickers, one of the investigation team's |
Founder members, said programmes such as his Most Haunted series gave paranormal investigations a bad name. |
"It's not as scary as that" she said. "It will be brilliant if we can catch something on camera". |
Mrs. Vickers of <Address deleted>, has been interested in the paranormal all her life, after seeing ghosts as a child.

"I saw one old man sitting beside my bed," said Mrs. Vickers. "It scared the life out of me". |
"As a child, I spent a lot of time down at the Museum. Before I knew anything about ghosts, there were particular rooms that used to |
make my hair stand up - you just knew there was something there". |
"It's an old building which is steeped in history". |
|
The newly-launched group hopes to carry out more investigations in Kent, including at The Little Gem pub, High Street, Aylesford. |
