GHOSTS and spirits are not only at large at Halloween - and one group is determined to prove it. |
Mysterious spectral legs, ghost dogs and voices from beyond the grave are part of a normal week for the Maidstone-based Southern |
Paranormal Investigation Team.
In the last month the group had had hair-raising experiences in both the Maidstone Museum and Bentlif Art Gallery and at The Little Gem |
pub in Aylesford. |
They plan to spend another night of Seances and Ouija Boards in the area over the Halloween weekend.
Founding members, mother and daughter Corriene Vickers and Louise Lindley, have amassed a collection of digital photos, videos and
sound recordings which hint at a spiritual world. |
Mrs. Vickers said: "The Little Gem was our most successful so far. We had glasses coming off shelves, without being broken, while no- |
one was in the room, and a tankard on the bar was moved and turned". |
"We all picked up a dog which ran across the balcony".
A member of the team also saw a mysterious pair of legs running up the stairs.
Mrs. Vickers said two members of the group were touched by a spirit child during a recent visit to Maidstone Museum, but she cast |
doubt on the theory that one of the art gallery's paintings is haunted. |
She said: "We didn't feel anything at all from the painting or in that room. But there are definately places in there that have spirit activity. |
We sense it as soon as we walk in - The Cloisters being one."
The team believe they successfully contacted five spirits on a Ouija Board during the Maidstone investigation, including one claiming to be |
Maidstone-born writer William Hazlitt, who died in 1830. |
